About this converter

This tool converts between Simplified and Traditional Chinese. When online it uses the OpenCC engine for accurate, phrase-aware conversion; offline it falls back to a built-in table of common characters.

FAQ

Is the conversion accurate?

Online it uses OpenCC, which handles most characters and common phrases correctly. Regional word choices (e.g. Taiwan vs Hong Kong vocabulary) are not applied.

Use the result with confidence

Choose the direction before pasting

Simplified → Traditional and Traditional → Simplified are separate conversions. Paste a short paragraph, review the result and then copy it. This changes Chinese writing forms; it does not translate English or automatically localise every phrase for Taiwan or Hong Kong.

Why proofreading is necessary

国 becomes 國 and 学 becomes 學 in traditional writing, but some characters depend on context. For example, 发 in hair and in development does not always map to the same traditional character. Names, addresses and specialist terms deserve a manual check even when ordinary sentences look correct.

Check the fallback notice

The full conversion uses OpenCC loaded as a browser library. If that library cannot load, a limited character map is used and the page displays a fallback notice. That mode has less vocabulary and no reliable phrase disambiguation. Do not use its output as a final publication without checking it.
