Calculation Methods & Limitations

Understand Numbrite calculation assumptions, rounding, external data and how to report discrepancies.

Models, not quotations

Numbrite uses the values entered into each tool. Financial outputs generally use MYR. A model with a constant rate cannot predict future rate changes, product charges or personal eligibility. Check the terms of your actual financial product before relying on a projection.

EPF and loans

The EPF tool adds monthly contributions before applying one twelfth of the assumed annual return. This is a simplified projection, not a reproduction of KWSP dividend accounting or statutory contribution tables. The home and personal loan tools use monthly reducing-balance amortisation at a constant annual nominal rate divided by 12. Personal-loan flat rates are not equivalent inputs.

Savings and compounding

Compound-interest deposits are added at the end of each month. The selected compounding frequency is converted to an equivalent monthly growth rate. Savings-goal contributions are also month-end deposits, using annual rate divided by 12. Inflation, taxes and charges are not deducted.

Rounding and changing data

Displayed amounts may be rounded to whole ringgit or two decimal places while calculations retain additional precision. Totals can therefore differ from the sum of individually rounded rows. The standalone currency converter displays daily external rates with their timestamp, or no conversion if the feed fails.

Health, sources and corrections

BMI and calorie tools are general screening or estimation tools, not diagnoses or personalised treatment plans. Sources linked on a page explain that topic; they do not imply endorsement of Numbrite. These method notes were updated against the implementation on 19 October 2026. Report discrepancies to NumNum at nowonderisme@gmail.com.

Conventions you can check on the page

Calendar arithmetic

Age and date differences use UTC calendar-day arithmetic to avoid daylight-saving offsets. Calendar month anniversaries clamp to the last valid day of the month. Inclusive date counting adds a day to day/week totals only. This is not a legal-age or business-day model.

Exact versus displayed arithmetic

Base conversion and fractions use integer arithmetic rather than rounding large integers to floating-point numbers. Fraction decimals, currency and financial displays are rounded. Check the exact fraction or the model’s full calculation when reconciling a rounded total.

External data can be unavailable

The standalone currency converter requests daily reference rates and displays their provider timestamp. It does not invent a quote when a request fails. DividenNote has separate price and FX settings; its cached or manual records must be interpreted using the dates and status shown there.

Each tool’s “Use the result with confidence” section includes its own example, interpretation or failure conditions. Examples are illustrations, not a promise of investment returns, eligibility or health outcomes.
